The Scholarship :

The University of Queensland (UQ) invites outstanding international students to apply for a limited number of scholarships valued at AUD$6000. These scholarships are available for students applying for most undergraduate programs at UQ (excludes quota programs*).

* Quota programs include Oral Health, Dental Science, Physiotherapy, Occupational Health and Safety Science, Medicine/Surgery, Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Science. Please note this list may not be exhaustive

The scholarship is a one-off reduction in your commencing tuition fees to the value of AUD$6000. The scholarships are available for international students who have completed senior high school overseas equivalent to Queensland Year 12 (eg. A Levels, International Baccalaureate, etc).

The scholarship is not available to students who have already commenced a postsecondary qualification or who are already studying in Australia. The successful applicants must be classed as an international student in Australia (Australian permanent residents and Australian citizens are not eligible).

Scholarship applications must be received at UQ by:

  • 31 October to commence in Semester 1 (February), or
  • 30 April to commence in Semester 2 (July)

ELIGIBILITY

  • Must have a score that equates to a Queensland Tertiary Education rank of 96. Please visit www.uq.edu.au/scholarships/international/undergrad for International equivalencies
  • Must not be recipients of another scholarship
  • Must be applying for the full program – not an articulation or requesting credit (other than the IB credit)
  • Must have a full unconditional offer
  • The application must be complete including a personal statement
  • Excludes quota programs

Successful scholarship recipients will be notified within one month of the scholarship closing date. Non-successful applicants will not be notified.

When awarding the scholarships, academic merit will be considered a high priority by the Selection Committee. However, additional factors such as demonstrated leadership and community service achievements, and your future academic and career plans as noted in your personal statement will also be taken into consideration.

The University will aim to award scholarships to applicants from a broad range of countries of origin and across a range of study programs.
