University of Edinburgh, UK - Informatics International Master Scholarships

Scholarship Beasiswa : The School of Informatics will offer up to 10 Master’s scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic session. Each will have a value of £1,000 and will be tenable for one academic year.

Eligibility
The scholarships will be awarded to international (non-EU) students who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for an eligible postgraduate Master’s programme.

The scholarship will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, a UK first class or 2:1 honours degree at undergraduate level or the international equivalent.

In addition to the above academic qualifications, the selection panel will also take into account the financial circumstances of applicants to ensure that as far as possible a student’s financial situation does not impede a university education. The scholarships will be awarded to international (non-EU) students who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for an eligible postgraduate Master’s programme.

Eligible programmes include:

• MSc in Artificial Intelligence
• MSc in Cognitive Science
• MSc in Computer Science
• MSc in Informatics

Completed application forms must be received by Scholarships and Student Funding Services no later than 1 April 2011.

A Selection Committee will meet in late May 2011 to select the scholarship holders.

These Scholarships provide an outstanding opportunity to study for a postgraduate qualification. One Scholarship is available from 1 April 2011 and one from 1 July 2011. The Scholars will be trained in all aspects of small animal surgery, including soft tissue and orthopaedics. The training programme is approved by the European College of Veterinary Surgery, and the Department is an Approved Centre for the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Surgery (orthopaedics).

The Scholarships are for one year in the first instance, renewable for periods of one year up to a total of three years. They are subject to an initial monitoring period of six months, and to review on an annual basis.

The Scholars will be required to register for a Certificate and/or Diploma in the appropriate field. The training programme requires participation in the Department`s clinical service, including the out-of-hours rota, in addition to small-group teaching of veterinary students.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD £ 20,970 Year one

Applicants must be a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, or hold a veterinary degree qualifying them for membership. Completion of an ECVS recognised internship or a minimum of two years` experience in small animal practice is essential.

The Bloomsbury Colleges Overview :

The Bloomsbury Colleges consortium brings together six University of London colleges comprising Birkbeck (Bbk), Institute of Education (IoE), London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), Royal Veterinary College (RVC), School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and The School of Pharmacy (SoP).

The consortium is offering twelve PhD Studentships, each of three years duration, to start October 2011. The Studentships will cover course fees (at the usual level for UK and EU Studentships) and a student stipend. They will encompass a wide range of topics spanning the biomedical and social sciences, reflecting the diversity of disciplines represented in the consortium. Scholarship Regulations

• Applicants must be resident overseas for fees purposes
• Students wishing to apply for a scholarship must firstly submit an application to study at Bangor University. Completed scholarship applications must be sent directly to the International Office by scan, fax or post. Applications should be received at the university no later than 30th of June 2011. Any applications received after the 30th of June, 2011 will not be considered
• Correct scholarship applications must be used (2011 Entry). All scholarship applications must be fully completed. Incomplete applications will not be considered and will be sent back to you
• International Scholarships are awarded only to students who have not been offered any other awards, scholarships or bursaries from Bangor University, its Colleges or Schools
• The International Office will reduce or totally withhold an award if the holder has not made distinct progress in his/her studies as certified by tutors and as shown in the examinations of the University, or if his/her conduct and diligence has not been satisfactory
• All scholarships shall be reviewed on an annual basis

UK | Masters Scholarships at The University of Warwick

The University of Warwick is delighted to announce, that in conjunction with the Chancellor`s International Scholarships for graduate research programmes, that three awards of £20,000 are to be made available to three outstanding candidates who wish to undertake a oneyear taught Masters or Masters by Research programme in any field of study for 2011 entry.

3 awards of £20,000 (pounds sterling) to be offered to successful candidates eligible to pay overseas tuition fee rates for entry in 2011

• No separate application form required. Admissions tutors in departments will nominate their most outstanding candidates for nomination
• Nominated candidates will be asked to submit a brief candidacy statement for the award
• To be eligible to be considered for the award, applications for graduate study must be received by 25th March 2011
• Students must formally accept their offer of study by 6th May 2011.

Each award, totalling £20,000, will be credited towards the successful candidates` tuition fees, and the remainder will be paid as a stipend to students to contribute towards living costs.

There is no separate application process for this award, however candidates shortlisted by admissions tutors in the departments to which the candidates have applied will be invited to complete an candidacy statement to support why they merit the award above other candidates.

The deadline in order to be considered for the award is 25th March 2011. Candidates must have successfully completed their applications by this date (including paid the application fee to apply, as well as provided supporting documentation required).

Research Fellow in P2P video streaming, De Montfort University, Leicester, UK

Salary: £30,747 – £33,600 per annum

Applications are invited for a research post in the Faculty of Technology as part of the European Union funded Community Network Game (CNG) project (http://www.cng-project.eu/).

The CNG project aims at enhancing collaborative activities between users of Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOGs). One of the main objectives of the project is to develop a peer-to-peer (P2P) streaming system to enable MMOG users to broadcast live video of their game. The researcher will play a leading role in the design, implementation, and testing of this P2Pvideo streaming system.

The post is available until 31 July 2012. Applicants should have a PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related subject. The successful applicant will have experience in P2P video streaming and excellent programming skills in C/C++.
