[UK] - Scholarship at Health Sciences research Institute

Scholarship Description:
To support the expanding work programme of Warwick Evidence by leading the production of multiple technology appraisals (MTAs) and single technology appraisals (STAs) and undertaking systematic reviews and evidence syntheses. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of information specialists, researchers, modellers and clinical effectiveness systematic reviewers in appraising evidence on the clinical and cost effectiveness of health technologies, including drugs, devices and diagnostics. Work undertaken will directly inform health policy at the national level.

1. To lead teams undertaking assessment of the clinical and cost effectiveness of technologies for Warwick Evidence and to undertake rigorous systematic reviews. Work will cover a broad range of health and medical conditions, therapeutic interventions, screening and diagnostic interventions.

2. To lead multiple technology appraisals (MTAs) and single technology appraisals (STAs) and externally funded health technology assessments for the NIHR HTA programme, NICE and for other funding bodies working to tight deadlines.
3. To work with clinical staff, NHS clinicians and managers, as well as a wide range of academic staff (including health economists, information scientists, modellers systematic reviewers and epidemiologists), and other stakeholder groups via formal group/committee work, informal networks and one-to-one liaison to undertake work for Warwick Evidence.
4. To work closely with those at national level including at NICE, the Department of Health and other national bodies and with other Technology Appraisal groups.
5. To represent Warwick Evidence at NICE and other national meetings.
6. To provide leadership, support and training in systematic review methods and in methods of clinical and cost effectiveness assessment within Warwick Evidence and the Warwick Medical School.
7. To contribute to relevant research seminars and to mentor junior systematic reviewers.
8. To identify a related (empirical/methodological) research agenda and sources of funding and to attract external funding to support related high quality research.
9. To produce high quality health technology appraisal reports and other outputs, to present work at national meetings and to publish work in international high quality peer reviewed journals.
10. To teach and supervise at both postgraduate and undergraduate level and to contribute to the work of Warwick Medical School.
