Scholarship | Postdoctoral Researcher in Behavioural Neuroscience
Fellowship Description: Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a two-year fixed term contract position as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Behavioural Neuroscience based at the National University of Ireland (NUI) Galway. The successful candidate will work on a two year project which aims to develop, validate and pharmacologically characterize a new, anatomically relevant model of post-surgical pain.
The position is funded by an Industry-Academia collaborative grant for a period of 24 months in the first instance and is available on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be employed by the Industry partner but based full time at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
Essential Qualifications: Applicants must have completed a PhD in a relevant area and have an interest in pursuing pre-clinical research into pain.
Desirable Qualifications: The ideal candidates will have significant experience in one or more of the following: Behavioural neuroscience; pre-clinical pain research models (in particular models of post-operative pain); surgery (e.g. stereotaxic or similar); histology; immunohistochemistry; stereology.
